Shallow or Deep?

My name is Matt Payne. I would just like to use these few paragraphs to share with you a little bit about myself and how the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee have helped me. I am a 24 year old seeking Christian who wants to know Jesus Christ more and more. I definitely received the Lord Jesus as my Savior and life when I was five years old and prayed with an older friend. As I got older through junior high and high school I made many friends and participated in varied activities in addition to my academics, that brought me into contact with a broad spectrum of people. Of course, I was always interested in what people had to say about God. Many of the Christian friends that I had throughout school, college, the military, and work were actively pursuing to know Christ better and to mature as Christian’s. As I said before, I had many friends and made new acquaintances easily. So, I'm pretty open and not trying to be vindictive. My point is this. I have been familiar with the literature of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee from my youth. I can testify of and share in detail the aspects of the Christian life, fellowship with God, and passages in scripture that I’ve been helped and impressed with through their ministries. Across the board the benefit I’ve received from this ministry has been more solid, profound, and accurate according to the entire Bible than any other author I’ve read and any other ministries I’ve come into contact with either in person or through my many Christian friends.

Two books I read by Watchman Nee were The Normal Christian Life and The Normal Christian Church Life. They helped me to realize how far reaching and effective Christ’s redemption is and the ongoing salvation that we can experience daily, which the Apostle Paul brings out in his epistle to the Romans. Also, I was helped to see more concerning the Body of Christ, which is all of God’s redeemed and regenerated people throughout the ages, and how it functions practically. Similarly, I’ve been edified by the ministry of Witness Lee, which is a continuation of Watchman Nee’s and every bit as deep and accurate. The ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee have nourished me with a high and deep realization of God and His precious Word. I really enjoy reading the Bible, praying, and walking the Christian life with the help of the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee; it has made being a Christian practical, daily, personal, less self centered, and enjoyable.
